Atoms and location services apology

21/08/2012 at 00:05Category:Atoms | GouldFish Games | Windows Phone 7

I would like to apologise for he last update of Atoms requesting the use of location services, this was introduced when I was fixing the adverts.  Please know that the game does not use your location in anyway and an update has just been submitted that will remove the request completely.

I would also like to say to any one that has had issues downloading the last update that update got released just at the wrong time and got stuck in the publish issues that Microsoft were having last week.  I am hoping that now its been fixed the update should install correctly, if not it will be fixed with the update that has just been submitted.

I thank you all for your support and patience in these matters.

Lack of news

03/05/2011 at 15:30Category:Atoms | General | Lobster Fishing | Windows Phone 7 | Xbox 360

Sorry for the lack of news but contracting commitments have kept me busy fir the last few weeks.

I can say that I’ve been hard at work on a new animation tool and system for both Atoms and lobster fishing (more news on lobster fishing is on the way).

The main focus of this tool has been to allow the artist and I to quickly make the animations needed for game and allow them to scale correctly for both 360 and Windows Phone. I’m hoping to get a video of the tool up some time soon.

Finished the move to XNA4 and the move to the latest version of my library.

What this means is that I can now use the updated tech that I’ve been working on,  like particles and other goodies! It also allows me to work on the xbox and windows phone 7 version.  If fact I already have it up and running on WP7 – the first time since the limited tests I tried out last year.

I hope to have a version running on the 360 very soon.

Don’t worry not gone

Still working on atoms, a new particle system is now been created so there will now be more spot effects that should improve the overall feel of the game.

Also new artwork is in bound as well. The end result should be a better alpha and hopefully a shorter beta an final release.

I have also been working on other titles and plan to give more details on them soon.

My current plan is for V0. 7 to be my alpha release with the 0.6 versions being the pre alpha.

I finished the second of the pre alpha’s earlier today which included the new slot based replay saving and loading.

Updated professor art work and more updates to screens, added addtional animations for the new logo screen and animated the movement of the profs when the player changes.  The final thing that changed is that I have removed the loading screen,  the loading is now hidden by the logos screen.
